Being a Siemens supplier

Quality, availability, productivity, innovation and sustainability along the entire Siemens supply chain are central to our business success. That is why we select our suppliers carefully across all functions. Our partners are market leaders in quality and innovation and constantly outpace market developments. In return, proven suppliers gain access to worldwide markets through cooperation with Siemens, a global technology leader. In addition, they can expand their product, solution and service portfolio as well as their customer base in the long term.

Registration and qualification

The supplier registration and qualification process is carried out via our company-wide standardized IT application SCM STAR. Suppliers are first asked to register by providing all relevant data. In addition, all suppliers must commit to complying with our standards and principles for sustainability in the supply chain, as documented in our Code of Conduct. If certain criteria apply, suppliers are also asked to complete the Corporate Responsibility Self Assessment (CSRA).

After successful completion, Siemens suppliers receive the status "Ready for Business" (R4B).

We see our suppliers as partners and support them in their continuous development. The development measures are derived jointly from performance and risk assessments and our strategy.
